Cheap Afternoon Tea in London 2018

If you are a Londoner or traveling to London, you would want at least to try an afternoon tea once. It is usually linked to special occasions such as birthdays, but, it is getting more popular as more people want to try it and as there are many occasions to celebrate during the year.
The royal indulgence does not have to cost you a fortune, though. You can still enjoy it on an budget and find places that offer cheap afternoon tea in the capital. I say cheap in a good sense, the places in this post are some of the best in the country but they happen to offer average teas that are affordable.
How much is affordable/expensive?
Obviously, this will vary depending on people's income and whether they are doing this as a one-off or rarely (in which case willing to pay more) or as a more frequent thing that you could perhaps do with your other have or someone special without an actual occasion. To set a cut-of, I decided that anything less than £60 for 2 people is reasonably cheap (relative to other places where it can cost £60+ per person.
Please note that you should really check official websites or call the venues before going to confirm prices, time (afternoon tea is only served at specific times) and other arrangements.

Alright, you are technically within the grounds of the palace, yes you read that right! A real royal indulgence in an actual royal palace as you overlook the garden's of the palace. You are also in the Hyde Park so walking around the place, you will find plenty of beautiful scenery after you have had your tea. They have a wide variety of teas to choose from as well as your usual: sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and jam, etc. Tea there starts at £30 per person and you can add wine for an extra 10 pounds. They also have an option for children's afternoon tea.

Ok, it is a bit more than 20 pounds, the afternoon tea here costs about £24 per person, but, we are in the middle of one of my favourite London places: the amazing Covent Garden market! The restaurant offers this traditional afternoon tea while listening to live classical music being played and opera singing as well!
The Covent Garden Market area has interesting stalls, a crafts market as well shops, cafes and bars. There are always many street performers and of course, it is full of tourists. Some of London's most famous museums are within close reach.
You will need to call and double check the times and which branches offer afternoon teas.
Price: £25 per person.
We have come to the end of the list. Thank you so much for reading this far. Please let me know in the comments below if you have any other places to suggest or if you have tried any of those places I suggested! What are you waiting for? Leave a comment below! :)
